The Custer County Diamond Youth Organization provides the opportunity to participate in summer league baseball and softball programs in Broken Bow, NE.

This age group of boys plays in the South Central Nebraska League. Depending on the number of teams in the league these boys will play 12-18 games during the season. There will be some travel involved during the week.

Home games will be played at the Melham Baseball/Softball Complex or Paul Brown Field.

In addition to the championship tournament there is an All Star game that at least two players from the Broken Bow Team(s) will be picked to represent our teams.

American Legion Baseball

Girls Fastpitch Spirit Softball

10U, 12U, 14U, and 16/18U age divisions

The goal is to introduce these young ladies to the fundamentals of fastpitch and spark a love for Spirit Softball. Depending on the age, practice begins late in the spring and the season wraps up in July.

Spirit plays home games primarily at Tyke Arnold Field in Broken Bow. There will be travel involved both during the week and on some weekends participating in USA Softball Sanctioned Tournaments.

The State USA Softball Tournament is hosted in Hastings in early July, competing in either the Class C or D state tournament.

DYO Concession Stand Schedule

Thanks for supporting DYO! Helpful volunteers make our program thrive!

Each DYO team is assigned a night to work the Melham Concession Stand. Coaches - Arrange with your team PARENTS to rotate through the shift. A manager will guide you, and setup is prepped!

Guidelines:

1. At least 2 adults should be in the concession stand at all times. (Not the entire team) If the players are under 10, please plan for primarily adult help. Avoid extra siblings in the concession stand as well.

2. Anyone handling food must wear gloves.

3. NO FREE FOOD while you work. All proceeds benefit DYO.

4. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to game start. Some nights there are multiple games on multiple fields.

5. Do not accept checks or large bills (this wipes out the change). Please assign an adult or responsible older player to make change.

6. Cleanup the facilities and prepare for the next shift. Instructions are posted, and a manager will guide you.
